Go, Pasadena!

Pasadena Sports Hall of Fame

Mr. Stokes completed his career at USC with 94 tackles and 11 sacks in 22 games. His teammates at USC include Heisman Candidate/NFL Great - Rodney Peete, and John Muir High School Great and Super Bowl XXVI Champion, Ricky Ervins.

In 2013, Mr. Stokes was inducted into Glendale Community College's Hall of Fame. The March 6, 2013 article entitled "2013 Glendale Community College Hall of Fame: Stokes Perfected Art of Intimidation" by Charles Rich of the Glendale News Press/LA Times, is an excellent read of one of our very own. It confirms our belief that Mr. Stokes is one of Pasadena’s All Time Best Football Players.

Mr. Stokes, is an alumni of Pasadena High School who received CIF honors as an "Outside Linebacker" for the Bulldogs in 1983.  Between 1984-85, Mr. Stokes played football at Glendale College. He received All-American honors in 1985. His school record of 24 career quarterback sacks remains unbroken. Side note: It is reported that he was drafted to play professional baseball by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1984 and the Minnesota Twins in 1985, while at Glendale Community College.

In 1987, Mr. Stokes was designated as an "All-PAC 10" outside linebacker for USC. For that year, Mr. Stokes had 59 tackles, seven sacks and five pass deflections. His efforts helped lead the Trojans to a PAC 10 Conference Title over Troy Aikman and the UCLA Bruins which lead to the 74th Rose Bowl match up between USC and Michigan State.
