Pasadena Sports Hall of Fame


Mr. Crutcher was voted Rio Hondo League Player of the Year.  He also earned All-CIF, All Southern Section and All-American honors his senior year. Mr. Crutcher entered the All-Star team with accomplishments unmatched by any other member appearing.


Since 1981, no other Viking has come close to Mr. Crutcher's accomplishments on the football field.


Mr. Crutcher had a successful career at the University of Southern California.  Between 1981 to 1985, he rushed for nearly 3k yards.  Mr. Crutcher is eighth on the All-Time Trojan Rushing List; behind fellow Pasadenian, Sultan McCullough but before  Ricky Ervins.


​Mr. Crutcher played a pivotal role in the Trojans (20-17) 1985 Rose Bowl victory over Ohio State University.


Fred Crutcher is a Pasadena legend.

John Robinson, the legendary football coach at the University of Southern California, once regarded this Blair High School alumni as a true Heisman Candidate.  The first of such from Pasadena.


While a Viking, Mr. Crutcher, rushed for  1,666 yards and 24 touchdowns on 211 carries in his senior season.
