In 1986, The John Muir High School alumni led his school to its first boys' basketball championship.


​Sporting News All-American voted Mr. Augmon the  Most Valuable Player(4-A Division).  He was also selected to the Los Angeles Times' All-San Gabriel Valley Team. The highly recruited senior from Pasadena decided on UNLV - to join another Pasadena great- Jerry Tarkenian.  Mr. Augmon started all four seasons with the Rebels and, in 1989, was  voted the Big West Conference Player of the Year.


In 1988, Mr. Augmon was a member of the USA (Mens) Olympic Basketball Team - bringing home a bronze medal to Pasadena, California.

​​​​In 1990, Mr. Augmon secured his legacy in the NCAA when the Running Rebels defeated Duke 103-73 in the National Championship.  The following year, Mr. Augmon received Second Team All-American honors.


In the 1991 NBA Draft, Mr. Augmon was the ninth overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks.  He was selected for the NBA's All-Rookie First Team the following year. 


​Mr. Augmon enjoyed a 14 year career in the NBA.  He is currently an assistant coach at his alma mater,  UNLV.

It's that time of year again! 


More kids from the hometown of sports icons such as Jackie Robinson and the Rose Bowl, who have made significant contributions in Athletics will have their sports legacy preserved in the Pasadena Sports Hall of Fame. 


The Pasadena Sport Hall of Fame 2017 – 2018 Class of Inductees also includes individuals and organizations that have sponsored and/or supported youth sports and recreation in Pasadena, California.


The 2017 – 2018 Class of Inductees compliment the Pasadena Sports Hall of Fame’s alumni composed of other kids (and organizations) from Pasadena, California who went on to become champions in CIF-SS, NCAA, NFL (10 Super Bowl Champions), MLB, NBA and the Olympics.  Name it and someone from Pasadena has done it!

 
The 2017 – 2018 Class of Inductees will be welcomed into the Pasadena Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at Brookside Golf Club located in Pasadena , California.  Purchase a ticket by clicking the donate button below and make a donation of $65.00 for an individual ticket or $55.00 per couple.
